ADVANTAGES OF A SOLAR WATER PUMPING SYSTEM

THE PRIMARY FUNCTION OF A SOLAR-POWERED PUMP IS TO SUPPLY WATER TO HIGH COUNTRY FARMS

The solar water pump is a type of water pumping system that works wherever there is an abundant supply of sunlight. During hot seasons or during the time when sun rays are very strong, the water requirement is very high. A solar-powered water pump will prove to be a reliable and effective source of water for any farm.

Farmers are increasingly interested in finding environmentally-friendly farming solutions. A major challenge for farmers is the increasing dryer conditions in the New Zealand summers.

The answer? To use the hot sun to overcome farm water shortages by going solar. With many areas of the country experiencing droughts, the power of the sun can be used to help with water supplies.

Many hours can be spent operating petrol or diesel pump systems. These days alternatives are available.

Advances in solar technology mean that solar pumping systems can now economically provide stock and irrigation water for farmers. Solar pumps have come a long way in the last ten years.

Solar pumps can now do all the jobs that petrol, diesel or mains pumps can. Solar systems are capable of pumping thousands of litres an hour and pumping uphills hundreds of metres high. And importantly are basically free to run and has little or no impact on the environment.

Installing a solar pump system allows farmers to provide stock with water from sources that are not near a mains power supply and most times solar systems cost less to run than other systems.

Providing water on hill farms for stock water supplies, pumping water from streams and lakes for stock and providing irrigation water in remote areas are only some of the uses for solar pump systems.

A typical solar system consists of a number of solar panels, a controller to efficiently convert solar energy into electricity, and a pump. Pumps can be submersible types or can be placed beside streams or dams or down wells.

Solar pump systems are ideal for stock water, because the hotter and sunnier the weather, the more the stock drink and the better the pump works.

Solar pumps are competitive in price with petrol and diesel pump systems when running costs are considered and they have the advantage of not needing regular refuelling.

THE BENEFITS OF A SOLAR WATER PUMP INCLUDE:

LOW COST

Solar pumps can typically be paid off in 2-3 years making them a great alternative to diesel Petrol or the main grid.

SELF-SUFFICIENT

Limited servicing required. No wasted time travelling to fuel pumps and they can be installed in the remotest areas.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Benefits of renewable energy generating energy that produces no greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and reduces some types of air pollution.

2 YEAR WARRANTY

We offer a 2-year warranty for peace of mind, knowing that we stand by our products.

OUR XM SURFACE PUMP SERIES

All our XM Surface Pump Series include everything to get it up and running including complete installation, solar panels, power cable, mount frames for panels and an intelligent MPPT DC controller. Most of these pumps work with 32mm or larger pipes. All these XM pumps come with an intelligent DC controller which features an automatic start and stop also compatible with pressure, flow switch and liquid level probe.

Our systems are designed to run off solar panels without the use of batteries which saves on cost, however, we can offer a battery option when applicable.

OUR GRUNDFOS SUBMERSIBLE SOLAR PUMP SERIES

The Grundfos solar submersible pump models are an environmentally responsible solution for water supply.

The pumps incorporate a permanent magnet motor that allows the efficient use of energy from natural sources. This pumping system is an ideal solution for the supply of water in areas of difficult access in which it is scarce and the electricity supply is nonexistent or unreliable.
